“Under scrutiny that is never going to hold up,” Sachi said, disapproving.
“Doesn’t matter,” Avesta responded, “Just get the coat on then we will follow a group through the entrance to the holding bay, and we won’t have to scan for entry.”
Sachi did as was requested with a look on his face that read he knew that this was foolish and if they didn’t end up in a holding cell, they might just end up on the float without a snorkel. “What I don’t quite understand,” Sachi said as he followed Avesta down the empty corridor, “Is what you expect to do with whatever, or whoever, it is you find on this ship. The crew is bound to be either locked up or have been found resisting arrest in the morgue.”
“I’m going to steal it,” Avesta replied without pause.
Sachi stopped and watched her form continue forward into the dim light of the hallway and disappear around a corner. He was forced to chase after her, and he grabbed her shoulder, forcing her to stop and look at him. “Seishinbyō, you have kurutta, Avesta Marici! What are you thinking?” Sachi hissed.
