“Bih-trey.” Sag accentuated each syllable slowly. “Not bee-tray you idiot! Asshole! Let me off this box!” Sag lunged as far as his rope and handcuffs would let him, the inertia knocking him to the floor from the effort when the rope snapped back.
Jabari sighed, “Sag, nobody is bih-traying you. You need your meds, bud. It is just you and me here, do you remember that? This cold metal ship floating alongside a square block of rocking speeding through a pile of black nothing is just you, and me.”
Sag glared up to Jabari from the grated metal floor. The green light from the cargo container that indicated it was still magnetized giving Sag’s eyes a reptilian ferocity to his stare. “If I see it, if I hear it, and it taunts me because I cannot touch it because of these damn ropes, how is that not real! The bitch is right behind you laughing, and prodding, and staring, and getting all her other little friends from their corners, and doors, and boxes! Look!”
Jabari shook his head before turning to leave, “Ann this is progressing a lot faster than last time. You need to hurry before he hurts himself.”
Sag watched Jabari turn and walk through, not around, the fire-haired girl smirking to him, she laughed again. “Shut it!” Sag demanded as the buzzing that resembled far off muffled conversation in his ears seemed to increase tenfold. Sag crumpled against the box and covered his eyes, forcing himself to look only at the back of his eyelids.
